Oil leak and "rumble strip", thoughts?

So I recently flooded my actuator and got stuck in 4Lo. Drove it like that for about 80 miles to get back to a place where I could get towed. Details here:

After I got it back working I noticed that my transmission started having the infamous "rumble strip" issue between 35 and 40 mph. Goes away when taking the foot off the gas or shifting from D to 4. I never had this before this incidence. Had a full transmission fluid exchange about 20k miles ago (currently at 179k). While under the truck I also noticed some oil leaking from the plastic cover between the engine and the transmission (engine oil based on color). Engine oil was changed a bit over 1000 miles ago. I don't know if any of this is related or just bad luck but maybe one thing lead to another?

Besides the "rumble strip" the truck drives fine. I could just add some Shudder Fixx to the transmission and see if that solves it. But I have a trip coming up this weekend and would hate to get stuck somewhere again or worse, mess up the transmission.

At that location, it could be the beginning of a rear main seal failure. Have you checked your oil level?

Yes, oil level is fine and has not move since oil change.

Can driving with the "rumble strip" issue for some time (1000 miles or so) cause any damage to the transmission? Or is it just an annoyance? Will try Shudder Fixx.
