Hi everyone...im new to this board.
My 1990 4runner V6 has a pretty bad oil leak.
What is the reason for this? Any common oil leak problems for these engines?
Im thinking valve cover gaskets??
What do you all think?

Thanks,

Well for being a 1990 it's around 14 yrs old, and seals do go bad. So the first thing you will have to do is clean the engine. You must take all the grease and grime off the motor. Then drive it around for a day and see where the oil is leaking.

How many miles do you have on your 4Runner?

leaking oil

Probobaly the valve cover gaskets. My V6 leaks about a liter (1 quart) every 5000km (3000miles). Get the enigine shampooed and run it. This will make it easier to find the oil leak. If you shampoo it yourself becareful around the alternator and distributor since the water may cause problems. The Valve cover gaskets are a pain to change on the 3.0V6`s.
