Oil on spark plugs.

What would cause this? valve cover gaskets?

There are round gaskets on the spark plug tubes in the valve cover. When they fail, you can get oil accumulating around the base and up the neck of the spark plug. They typically come with replacement valve cover gaskets, 3 per side.

Spark plug grommet/gaskets. They, just like the valve cover, will crack and leak all over the place.

Good news is your spark plugs will be easy to remove lol.

Word to the wise. Go OEM.

My Fail-Pro spark plug tube seals lasted 1 year before leaking, then I bought OEM anyway. Waste of time and money.

Exactly above^^^. I used an aftermarket valve cover gaskets, and after driving 3000 or so miles it started leaking. Tighten the bolts yet it leaked. Then went with OEM. Aftermarket DOES NOT go with a TOYOTA.

It looks legit, that is if you actually get that identical part. The few times I've bought OEM items off ebay I normally see if the seller is directly connected with a dealership but for something like a gasket you're probably fine.

Counterfeiters normally target more expensive items like sensors and injectors.

That part is only $5 more from Camelback Toyota. I personally wouldn't take the chance to save a few bucks. But then again, I don't like doing a job twice.

Did the gaskets fix the problem....??? I have the same yellow ring but not as much oil....
