Oil overfill? Probably dumb question but...

I decided to check oil level in the morning and it was just below the lower pin hole. So I added about 1/3 of a qt. Only after that I realized that my truck was parked on the slope. So after I drove it a little and checked again it was somewhat normal. After I came back from work I checked it again (truck was cold, standing for 8hrs) and level was about 1/8" above higher pin hole. I drove it a little again and checked 3-4min after shutting it (like manual says). Level was above the middle of the operation level but below upper pin hole.
It probably sounds really silly to most of you, but should I drain a bit of oil or just leave it be?

Leave it be. You have to overfill by a LOT to start having issues.

Forgot to add: It's total of 6 qts there now, with 5.5 being normal as per manual.

Overfilling the oil system can result in "frothing" of the lubricant, resulting in poor lubricating qualities and reduced viscosity.

It's not so full that I would worry about it, 1/8" isn't much.

Most people add 6 qts to the 3.4 every oil change as it is, I've been doing it for 100k miles

thats where it should be.

i generally prefer to run at the top of the level tho.
but as said, id leave it.

cool, thanks. good to know. I checked on it again and it's right at the top level with warm engine. Just after shutting it has some tiny air bubbles on the dipstick but later they disappear. Is that something to be concerned about?

Forget it ever happened. You're fine. As far as the bubbles go it would be best to part out the truck before it blows... Actually you might expect a bubble or two after the motors been running I wouldn't worry.
