Oil Pressure Gauge

Like many others who have posted, my oil pressure gauge reads alarmingly low after the engine warms up. I have reviewed the earlier posts and it seems like a non-issue, but can anyone weigh in on whether you later found out it was an issue? I'm just wondering whether I should take it to a shop to get a "real" oil pressure gauge reading. Thanks in advance for any responses. Also, I'll post some more pics of the Runner tonight. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but this is my first Yota truck and I REALLY like it.

Low at idle, comes up under acceleration = normal.

Low and stays low under acceleration = investigate.

It goes up when the revs increase. It is so unsettling when the gauge is at the very bottom at idle when the engine is warmed up. I think I will go with a synthetic oil change to see if that helps. I have the owners manual and it does show that the bottom of the gauge is in the normal range for idling.

What's really unsettling is when you drive to work and then see the gauge at 0, and know you have to get up and over a mountain to get home.

Turned out that when I had just changed the oil, when replacing the filter I knocked the oil sender loose or off the connection. Once I fixed that, things were working fine. I've never worried much about the oil pressure gauge, except for that day.

On my old 3.0 mine didnt work at all. So tried a $40+ OEM sensor.(they had 3 different ones for the 3.0) I had the wrong sensor / guage combo so it would peak on startup then drop to 0 & stay.... & same thing, then again with the second $45+ OEM one. & finaly I bought the 3rd $80+ option & it worked.

exactly. Maybe a heavier oil too if it's running real low.
