Oil Pressure

Hmm - and I thought you had already bought three different gauges/switches from different sources and know the thread pitch - - -

Again: "As far as I can tell, Toyota doesn't make oil pressure or temperature available on the bus - if they did I would be looking at the values on my ScanGauge, and avoid this while thing."

If anyone has information to the contrary - please lemme know.
Oil temperature is available, but nobody has figured out which PID it is yet.
You can see all the available engine PIDs in this post: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/121604-toyota-tis-techstream-6.html#post1765333

Nope, I only bought the one $13 switch from O'Reilly's, and my original post was made before doing so, just in case I had trouble finding one locally to look at. I still don't know what the threads are - NPT, SBPT, metric of some sort, size? All I have is a sample, and it's sorta hard to order a gauge sender / adapter if you can't tell 'em explicitly what the thread size is. "About the size of my pinkie" doesn't cut it.

Thanks for the hopefully useful information. I'll have a look at the post.

[Edit] A great read - thanks! Hot damn - looks like I can monitor my power steering pressure! Maybe it's time to root around on the interwebs and scare up a copy of Techstream. Looks like some fun stuff...
