It's nota very useful test (no test of shearing, lubricating, seal- conditioning, etc.) but it is entertainining. Thanks for posting it. I'd never eat BBQ at this guy's house.

I wouldn't say it proved nothing. It did show how different oils react to extream heat. It also shows that the oils that perform better in other tests also did well in this silly test.

Interesting: To my knowledge all Royal Purple products contain an EP additive (usually sulpher....I think) which will create deposits and increase acidity at higher temps. Some time ago before I knew that, I always wondered what the yellow film was that formed on the underside of my fill cap! :mad:
