i went to the dealership today and got a transmission drain and fill on my 02 sport...i think it might be the first tranny fluid change since i have owned the car [i got it with 38,000] and i was wondering if i should do a complete trann change but its cost alot of money...i asked them when this should be done and they said every 20,000 mi.. i know there are a bunch of threads like this but what should i do? stay with what i have done?or save money and do a complete change..and does anyone think it has done damage to my tranny..thanks i hope someone response

A simple drain gets maybe 30% of the fluid in the AT. It takes $10-12 worth of fluid so if you paid $30 I'd do it ever 20k or so. The more costly flush might be a 60-75k expense -- if you don't do the partial drain/refill.

So Toyota doesn't supply a torque converter drain plug?
