Backstory-
A couple of months ago, I posted asking about the location of the OD solenoid on my auto trans on my '89 Toyota P/U. While I did get a little help, I believe I've got some more info to share to help track down an issue.
The Present-
I travel for a living and have been out of town 7 of the last 8 weeks, so I have been unable to do any testing or checking on the various systems.
As stated, while driving down the road a couple of months ago, I had the OD disappear on my truck. At the time, I noticed my fuel gauge had stopped working-but I wasn't positive that it happened exactly when my OD went out. Upon doing research, everything I read said the sender had died and I'd have to remove/replace it. As the truck is about 25yrs old, I figured the sender had lived as long as expected. BUT, fast forward to last week...
So, as the last couple of months have passed me up while out of town, it's become chilly on the east coast. Yesterday, I was driving to work and decided to turn on the heater with the high 30 degree weather.
The blower motor doesn't work at any speed...all speeds were working fine the last time I used it.
So, what I'm hoping is someone on this forum that is much smarter than am I will be able to tell me that a single relay or solenoid...or something, "controls" all three of those things. Hopefully...Please...
I'm out of town this week as well, so if you have any suggestions to try out on the truck-I'm unable to for a few days.
I'm REALLY hoping this is going to be just one thing to replace instead of having to replace an auto trans OD solenoid, a fuel tank mounted sender, and a blower motor!
