I just came back from San Antonio Texas yesterday morning..... around 1:15 a.m. i got home...the car was park since then until this morning(more than 24 hrs) . When I started the car this morning ,the Tire Lights came on. No problems at all during the one week trip running around in the 4runner from Indy to San Antonio all over Texas and back to Indy. The runner was taken to the shop for an oil change and tire rotation the day before the trip. I havent check if there is a nail or something in the tire... Is this normal to have low pressure after beating up my baby on a long trip ?....or should I take her to the shop to check the tires ?...

Just make sure your tire pressure is ok and not too full or low. If that does not solve your problem, then you may have a bad sensor in the tire.

Also, check your spare. Yes, the spare is also connected and monitored by your 4runner!

Tire sensor

When I drove my 4runner from Oregon to SoCal I noticed that same thing. I bought it in Oregon, was just fine, once I got to SoCal, light came on. I knew about the spare being part of the system. I just drove it a block and paid the 50 cents and played the "add air till light goes out" game. Back left. Its always the back left. My fiancee took it in and asked about it, Toyota said it was the spare. I'm going to call bullshit and raise the stakes and have the sensors changed out under warranty. Is it still the spare then?

I had a similar issue in my last SUV, Nissan Pathfinder. 1 tire would always be 5 lbs or so low. I finally took the car to a Sears tire center and they found the "pin" in the valve stem was loose. They replaced that and no further problems.

You guys are not going to believe me...but the light went off by itself lastnight...

I am taking it to the dealer anyways to have them check on that.....
