Old Man Emu choice?

So help me out here. Searching not finding good answer.

Looking at old man emu lift for 4runner.
Many years ago had ome lift on FJ cruiser and was very satisfied.

No aftermarket bumpers or winches going on, no roof rack.

Plan on 285s (Firestone destinations).

so issue is looking at several reputable sellers (yotamafia, toytec, mudify, DPG).

One recommends 884 front and 895e rear (mudify) for 2” lift.

another 884 front and 889 rear (both toytec and yotamafia)

and yet another one 885 front 895 rear. mudify for higher 2.5” lift.

And finally 884 front 895 rear. (DPG)

Now it seems as the 895e rear may cause a little negative rake, which I do not want at all of that is the case.

anyway, trying make good choices.

On my older FJ cruiser I had 885/895 but of course a different vehicle.

appreciate the feedback.

I had 883 front and 895e rear. It gave about 2" front and rear maintaining factory rake with no weight. 884 front/895e rear would make it more level.

My only complaint with the 895e is its meant for weight so unloaded it was a bit stiff. With camping gear it rode better.

Look at Ironman 4x4 Nitro lift kit. Much better ride quality on and off road than OME. I had OME on my 3rd gen and it was firm off road.

OME 885/898 on 255/80 17. Added bumper and winch after this pic and may get the next step up to better manage weight.

Is that the 255/80/17's on your truck in the pic?

Also what was the amount of lift that you got with the 885/898 springs.

Thanks Alumni...Jim

Yes, 255 80 17 Falken Wildpeaks, lift is still about 2.5” in front, 3” in back, which is spec for springs. With the 33” tires, approach angle is better and nice to have the clearance below. Have added front Hefty bumper and winch since lift, previously had full alum skids, sliders and Gobi rack. I could go up from the 885 on the front since I added the extra weight up front, but it’s fine for now. I slightly regret not getting the higher weight springs from the start.
