Old Man Emu Landcruiser Coils

I've tried searching for the OME 851 and 861's but there isn't a whole lot of info on them here. Accoring to cruiser outfitters, both the 851 and 861 are within like a half inch of each other in over all length yet the 851 is for 2.5" of lift. Both have the same spring rate and are both around 19 to 19.25" tall which is the same as the regular 8 wraps.

So the question is......does anyone know the amount of lift these will give? anyone have any photos at all?

Its getting difficult to figure out all the different heights, even with looking at the lift FAQ and sticky

I could be wrong, but I believe the 851s/861s give the FJZ80 Landcruiser a 2.5" lift. Since the Landcruiser's stock coils give a 4runner 3-5" of rear lift (depending on year and how many wraps), it would follow that these 851s would give a 4runner somewhere between 5.5-7.5" of rear lift which is too much. You'll have a massive rake since your 4runner's IFS can only be lifted 3-3.5" max in the front (unless you get an expensive long travel kit, drop bracket lift which sucks, or SAS). Those 851s are also rated for a lot heavier vehicle so I would imagine they ride really stiff.

yeah the 851's are out since its too much lift. The 861's however are what OME is calling a "replacement" set up and only yields .25 to .75" of lift on the landcruiser

Its just difficult to find the correct color code for the lift i'm looking for, plus they're used coils so who knows how many miles are on them or how long they'll last. Springs aren't forever.

I have the Ome lc 851 springs and put alot of weight on them and they perform well but a super tall in the rear end unloaded. of course you will need longer shocks but that no big deal. also i have a set of 8 wrap that came off a buddys truck with like a 100k on them and i only put like 5k on them after i bought them off him pm if interested

Can I ask what the ground to fender height is loaded and unloaded?

The 851 is a heavier duty lift coil for the fj80. You will get ~5.5"-6" of lift. They are also a 220# spring rate, 891 are 210#.

When Elton came down to do my cv joints I was parked next to him and we were the same height and he has 8 wraps so I'm not sure it the 8's are enough lift. That was when I had the 285's on too

my 9-wraps lifted the ass just under 6" over stock...looks great with the 882 front coils

They will carry more weight, with less sag, than stock 80 coils.

OK so here are the OME 861's on my 4Runner.

It looks like it gained 1 inch over the LC 8 wraps that were in there with ~100lbs extra weight. These are brand new coils so there will be some sag. I would estimate that these are a 5 inch coil before the spring sags. My guess is that you will end up with a 4 inch lift in the rear with some extra weight. These are not quite as soft as the LC coils but they are definietly not a stiff riding coil.

From what we can tell, these would work as a substitute for the LC 9 wraps or as a taller version of the 891. We are going to do some more testing on a 3rd gen that has more weight on the rear.
