Old man EMU Suspension kits

Anybody have opinions on Old Man Emu? I have a stock 2000 that needs new suspension and was looking at upgrading a bit. I found this kit but not sure if it is a good way to go or not.

I have never had OME shocks but I have heard with a few people that are not happy with their ride.

You can mix and match coils and shocks. I'm a big fan of Bilstein shocks. They do cost more but you get what you pay for. I ran Bilstein HDs for years and are good too at a lower cost.

I put a full OME suspension on my '94 a few years back (coils, torsion bars, shocks, steering stabilizer) and enjoyed it very much. It rode fine, and handled well. Since the lift was only about 2", there was no need to change other components, like longer brake lines, etc.. Not sure if there were changes made for the 3rd Gen, so I can't comment on that specific set-up, but I was pleased with Emu's 2nd Gen gear.

OME is typically the best for handling and ride better than new, with a modest amount of lift.

Great Springs

I put a set of 2" Springs for the front and back of my 2002 4runner and they are the best riding and off road spring I have used in a long time. I have more travel and and far better ride and when I load it up it dosent squat down and it handles great. I love them. I want to get another set for my other Urbanrunner 2008 ..cant wait to see and feel ahte difference they make on it. Hope I helped.

OME is a very stiff ride. If you have a lot of extra weight it may not be too bad. I have the softest springs and shocks they make for the rear and it rides super rough. Not really happy with mine. But each driver is different. The kit adds roughly about 2.5 inches of lift. If you want more of a stock ride, look at the LC coils for the rear. Search OME vs. TRD Tundra/LC coil lift. Rickashay did a great write up of this.

Theres a ton of info out there via the google search up top. That said, i recently got the OME kit

881 up front, 890 rear; with the comforts shocks all around: they are stiff. But i love it. It rides like a truck, and corners very well with minimal body roll for a lifted truck. The kit raised my stock 2000 4runner suspension about 2.5 inches in front and 2.75 in the rear.

Just bought my 1st 4Runner, 2001 SR5 4wd, and ordered OME 883/891 heavy coils with OME shocks with drop kit. Won't be a daily driver just going on the beach and hauling a boat. See a lot of several year old post and was wondering if anybody has been riding on these for a while and how they have held up. Any need for any other aftermarket parts (UCA's, CV boots, panhard bars, ect) ? Any Pictures and tire sizes of 3" lifts to give me ideas would be cool too.

I too am also interested in an ome kit for my 94 t4r but I'm very new to the Toyota world and know nothing about them. My rig suffers from that super common butt sag. Also is there any other stuff that should be replaced to improve on and off road handling? Steering components?

Chris is there a write up link set up to the suspension you are running? I want the front and rear bumper but o don't want to spend an arm and leg on suspension. But I do want the reliability as well.
