Old to New 4Runner

I was going through some old books last night and found a picture. Since it's winter and we like 4Runners I thought I would share this. The first picture was taken in the winter 33 years ago in 1984. Yes, the snow gets deep here on the mountain and yes that's me at 21 years old in the driver's seat... This was my first NEW vehicle purchase. Drove it out of the showroom. The second picture was taken a few weeks ago of my latest 4Runner. Around 30K and will be a year old in a few months.

I have to look and see if I can find any of my old family pictures. My dad used to buy the FJ40s from the lot then two of the wagons when my brother was born. His last LC was a 85 FJ60 wagon. I've owned 9 Toyota Trucks/4Runners/JF Cruiser in my history. One was a '85 with 39 inch Mickey Thompson tires and a dump bed.... It was horrible. I think I have some Polaroids laying around somewhere. Only had two brand new myself however. Cool pics!

My 2015 trail and 1992 p/u both purchased new. I gave the truck to my daughter a couple of years ago.

Same here. Always wanted one. I place part of the blame on Back to the Future (I know that was a truck but I liked that style a lot). Went through a few other vehicles then finally was able to purchase one in 2008 and I was instantly hooked. I'm hoping to someday collect one from each generation.

That is my favorite body style Toyota truck. There is an older gentleman I see at the recycling center from time to time that has one just like the one pictured minus the camper shell that is absolutely pristine. I've offered to buy it a couple of times but he says it's his till the day he dies.

I looked at an '85 but the wife would not go for the straight drive (no automatic then) so ended up with a Jimmy.

Those old trucks do look dated now, but they sure do still look cool! Those are the trucks that made me want a 4Runner (and had two of the 80s models).

Have not found the pictures of my trucks.... mainly due to not looking for them. So what I should say is that they have not fallen in my lap yet.
However. I did find these pictures. This in in 1973, I'm less than a year old. Possibly '74. That's my mom and that's me chilling in the LC. This was the first truck that made me want to drive Toyotas.

I do miss my 97 SR5. It was a beast in the snow, but I do like my 11 SR5 and hopefully it will last as long???
