OME 2" 4th gen setup.

Anyone running ome883 front springs with ome895E rear springs on factory shocks in their 4th gen? Did a search and can't find much info. Slee Offroad is advertising these springs as 2 inches of lift. I just replaced my struts and shocks with Toyota oem. Realized after install that the springs were shot as well and now I am looking at options. I'm one of the few who like a softer ride. Don't want something super stiff but think the front could come up a bit. Been looking for some used FJ springs but have had no luck. Thought about Moog springs but have seen people post on the lack of fit and quality. Usually try to buy oem if the price is not outrageous, but Toyota wants a lot for new FJ springs. thought the ome883 springs up front might be the ticket. I would like to keep the oem struts and shocks so trying to keep the lift under 2". If anyone is running a similar setup how do you like it? Pics? Mine is a 2004 V6 SR5 4WD.

I would not suggest mixing OME springs with the OEM shocks. The Moog FJ would be a better option. I am saying this for 2 reasons. 1.- the front OEM shocks are not designed to be run with a longer spring like the OME 883 Funtime & 2.- the OEM rear shocks will not safely control/damp the spring rate of the OME 895E (40% stiffer than OEM).

Thanks for the opinion. I agree with you on the rears. I believe I read the rear oem's are 190 inch lbs and the 895e are 260inch lbs. I did some more research, might consider Moog v8 springs up front. Hear are some specs. Seems as though I might get a 1/2 inch raise with the Moog V8 springs while still staying at a similar spring rate. The Moog FJ spring rate is a little aggressive for me.

Factory v6 4wd front springs- 14inches long with 580 inch lbs
Moog v6 4wd - 14inches 595 inch lbs
Moog v8 4wd - 14.31inches 595 inch lbs
Moog FJ 4wd. -14.46inches 660 inch lbs
OME 883 -14.76inches 590 inch lbs

Hummm. Those Moog FJ seem higher than I recalled.

You could probably get away with the OME 883, but keep in mind the stroke length of the OEM shock was designed for a shorter spring. I would be concerned with potential of "top out" when extended since it will be operating at a longer length. I would feel better with the 4Runner V8 Moog spring trying to keep it in the operating range.

At the recommendation of the rep at Toytec, I went with the 885/895E combo instead of the FJ MOOG's (I have 2WD V8, 2004 Sport). I too heard of problems with the MOOG rears fitting and wanted to make sure that the springs I was going to use were "balanced" with one another.

So far, the ride is nice. Stiffer than stock, but that isn't a bad thing (not abusive like my Jeeps of the past).
