OME 2 inch lift

So everything is coming together money wise in regards to buying a lift and moving up on tire size. I want to do a 2inch Old man emu lift with the bj spacers and medium coils. And of course with all the OME shocks. I also want to move up to 33x10.50 bfg ats on a 15x8 rim. I have seen mixed reviews on this lift but from most of my research it seems sound. I also plan to rebuild the front supsension while i am at it... IE, ball joints (upper and lower) tie rods (inner and outter) and cv axles. So my questions are,

1. Is the old man emu 2 inch lift for my 1995 a good lift? any reviews are appreciatted too

2. Is there any thing special that I need to buy to accompany the ome lift?

any and all advice or help in regards to the lifting process would be greatly appreciated too.

OME is a good lift, you'll like how it rides. When you're putting the rear springs in would be a good time to convert to greasable shackles and pins, because you're going to have to cut the front pin off anyway. If you can't or don't get greasable bolts, drown everything in antiseize when you put it all back together.

Haha feeling the same way today. But I have those coils in the rear with stock height kyb shocks and carry about 300lbs at all times an it rides a little rough but not bad. I'd almost go 3 in the rear to get more height for tires and flex

Thanks for the input guys. I am researching this very heavily. And throughout my research I keep seeing stuff about drop bracket this and extend that. So I have developed more questions,
Do I need to replace the torsion bars too?

Do I need to get a pan hard bar drop bracket?

Also do I need to extend brake lines?

Also do I need to extend brake lines?no you shouldn't need if your doing 1.5" bj spacers

I say get the panhard drop bracket. I needed one when I first installed my fj80 coils. My driveline rubbed my tank a bit when I went around a corner. :bowl:

I have this lift kit on my 92 runner. My old factory suspension was dead at 231k miles. I went with the OME 2in lift with ball joint spacers. I've read people's review on how harsh it rides. I think it's just fine. In addition to the lift I went ahead and purchased the OME steering damper.

I would highly recommend the lift for those looking at making the purchase.

Installing the ball joint spacers are a PITA. The rear went fairly smooth and easy.

I have been looking around and the shocks look like they differ from site to site but I'm pretty sure they are the same????? Some I've seen are labeled as Nitrocharger and some just as OME gas shocks /: just looking for a reason for the inconsistency I've been seeing

Toytec or Cruiser Outfitters are the best places for OME. Cruiser Outfitters will probably have a better price, but won't have the balljoint spacers.

Ordered from Toytec. Took about a month due to the rear shocks being on backorder. They only have one option for the rear OME so I can't comment on what you're experiencing as far as the rear shock differences.

It was more so with the shocks being listed as "OME Nitrocharger" and "OME Shocks" Pictures were different. I most likely will be going with toytec. I have read some pretty awful reviews regarding wabfab :tsk:

You don't need to replace the torsion bars, but depending on their condition it may not hurt. It could refresh the front suspension feel. Plus, now is the time to do it since you'll have it all torn down.

The pan hard drop bracket isn't necessary, but I would recommend it. Roger Brown makes them and sells them on 4Crawler. If you don't use one, it will cause your rear axle to shift the drive line slightly to the right about a half inch to an inch, nothing too noticeable.

Extended brake lines are not necessary. Also, fwiw, my sig pic is without BJ spacers with a 2" OME rear lift. Mild rake, but I didn't want to do the front spacers.

With the OME lift/BJ Spacers, will 33x12.5x15 (stock wheels) fit with the OEM running boards in place? I know you guys don't like them, but they're needed.

If not, will they clear with a 285/75/15 on a 16x8 4.5" BS wheel?

Essentially I'd like to know what will fit with the OME setup while retaining the OEM running boards.
