Hello everyone. Im looking into picking up a pair of rear springs. I get some major sag when i load the rear up with fishing gear. Ive done some searching and got some answers here and there from other members. It seems that this is a very grey area as far as big lift OME springs goes. I would love to get both the 850 and 850J to let you guys know about the lift it would provide but money is tight and i would like to get it right the first time. If you got these springs on without any extra load, can you get a center of hub to fender measurement so i can rule out tire size. Also state if you got a body lift or spacer installed. Please :help:

The 850 and 850J's are gonna be wayyyy too tall on a 4Runner

How much lift are you looking for?

thats honestly a terrible idea... that much lift unloaded will put horrible angles on your driveline. how much weight are you talking about? what about a lower height with a higher spring rate.

What's your plan for the front, run 4" of rake? Or add a drop bracket lift to make it for looks only? Because that's the only thing that will even it out. If money is tight then a SAS isn't happening. Bad choice on coils.

I have a 6" drop bracket lift. Current setup sits lower than front with a 1.5" spacer. Im trying to get rid of the spring and spacer setup and replace it with a single spring. I pack a weekends worth of camping and fishing gear.

Whats your rear hub to fender measurement?

Please forgive me, we do things a little different here in Hawaii. A lot of 4x4 fabricators don't know that lc coils fit the rear, they use jeep and ford springs to lift the rear. Im just trying to keep it Toyota. I really don't care if its for looks or what not. Lets just forget about all that and lift this 4runner! I would love to post pics when this is all done. You guys can make fun and say how stupid is all day, ill still be happy with my 4runner.

You're sitting at 6" in the front and 1.5" in the rear? Am I reading that right?

Go with the 851's or 861's. I'm running the 851's and sitting at 27.25" hub to fender in the rear and that is with at least 450 lbs of extra weight. I also have a 1.5" body lift.

6 inches is really about the max you can lift the rear of these trucks. Anything more than that and the 4 link numbers start getting pretty screwy and it will handle like poop.

Even with 6 inches of lift, you are going to need longer shocks, extended brake lines, a panhard drop bracket or a adjustable panhard bar (or a combination of both), some longer sway bar links, and it would be a really good idea to get some adjustable upper and/or lower control arms to adjust the pinion angle.

If you want more than 6 inches, you should look into cutting out the factory link setup and doing a custom 4 link or swapping it to leafs.

I totally understand that the style is different in Hawaii but just remember that you are dealing with the same truck we are on the mainland. The limits of the factory stuff is the same.

6" in the front and the rear is a coil with spacer sitting at about 5.5". So the rear get even lower with load.

Have you ever lifted the rear higher than 6" and took it for a spin?

Not to be rude but you have everyone telling you not to run this set up yet you're still asking for pictures or ways to do it. If you're just going to do it anyway, order the springs and post it up for us. Its just way too much lift for this rig but don't take our word for it. Those springs are like $160 and its going to cost you 5 times that to fix the issues it will cause.

Check out flexinc's old build pics if you're that set on it.
