OME 880 front 906 rear

I'm sorry you had to live in Corvallis... :)

That's just what I am going for. I just want some additional clearance, and new suspension components. 880/906 it is. Thanks for sharing your experience and nice work with your 4Runner!

Haha, thanks. I love Oregon, but if I had to do it again, it wouldn't be in Corvallis! :)

Edit: I just remembered that my avatar pic thing (on the left) is from Valley of the Giants just outside of Corvallis. Probably one of my favorite discoveries while I was there!

Thanks and Yep, that's it, tires and lift. It was a good choice for how I use the vehicle.

Running4life, did you need a Front Diff Drop, or any additional addition for this kit? Or was it as simple as new coils/shocks, alignment, and your good.

Nothing else needed. I did have the company send it with the fronts built to save time. I ended up cutting off my rear shocks to install the new ones. The only thing, maybe, is my rear shocks came with a rubber bushing on top where it meets the mounting plate and recently I had been hearing a rattle every time I hit a bump. So after being sick of the sound I crawled under there and the rear shocks were lose because that rubber bushing was trashed. I went to the auto parts store and bought a set of bushings, put them on top, tightened everything down, no more rattling. Happy with the lift and ride all over again.

so how much lift will the 81's give compared to the tundra coils? i don't want to use spacers anywhere. are 81's good with adjustable 5100's?

I've got the 880/906 combo (see my thread in my sig). This fall I also added a 1" body lift for 285s... someday :-/

I really am happy with the combo for ride and height, it's not too much that I am concerned about my suspension angles, but does give it a better stance. Also, it rides much smoother and I can load up the back end w/o dragging the rear end down. Win win win.

Time to resurrect an old thread:

After a couple years, are you still pleased with this combo? The 880/906 with 4Runner Billies from Wheeler's is what I'm planning on right now.

I've been mulling over all the options. I originally just wanted new, quality shocks. Lift is not necessary, but I'd love a little so long as it doesn't open a can of worms, i.e. CV boots, driveline angle, etc. If I can do this combo for 1.5-2" and not be forced to update every other steering/suspension component as a result, then I think I'll go for it.

DELAYED response, just a little bit. Haven't been on here in a while.

Yeah, I love the combo. It's perfect. It holds nice and tight on the highway (which I do a lot of), I can load up the bag with a $hitload of stuff and it doesn't sag, but it still flexes just fine on the trails I do.

Question

I'm installing 880/906's this weekend and have the 4Runner specific 5100's. I'm trying to decide on which perch to set the front shocks to.

Is the lift that the 880's gives based on just swapping the spring onto a stock strut assembly?

So if I set the 880's to the 2nd perch, there's a chance that I end up with reverse rake and have to take it apart again?

Hate to bump an old thread but I'm new enough that I can't post a new one yet.

Thanks for any suggestions.
