OME 906 with OEM shocks

Put the longer one on the drivers side. This will compensate for the extra weight of the driver and gas tank on the right side.
 
The new springs are in and I could not be happier. The ride is much more stable but not too stiff. I loaded down the rear with 200lbs of weight and it only dropped about 1/4" inch. Before it dropped about 2-3".

2" of lift is a joke though. I now only have 1/2" rake which is perfect in my opinion. The front is 36" from the bottom of the fender to the ground and the rear is 36.5" respectively.

I'm running the 906's in the back and 4th gen oem shocks and it is really nice. The longer shock gave it just enough lift with out overdoing it.

No, do not do this, if you run with any weight in the back it will level it out over time, and long enough it will sit lower than the front without the spacers.

The longer shock doesnt give any more lift, it just allows for full travel when you are flexing.
 
I installed OME 906 springs today after reading this thread.

A few months ago I replaced the front struts and rear shocks, and I had some sag in the rear.

After the 906 springs, I think it looks perfect now. A slight rake, which is fine by me because I carry things and tow often.

This is with Monroe OE replacement shocks.







 
Stock 99 talls up front and OME shocks and 906 springs in the back. I love the set up. Everyone comments on how well it handles off road.
 
So what are the best shocks to run with 906's? I'm looking for soft. Stock OEM since I'm already on 99 talls? Billy 4600HD's? 5100's? Tundra? 4th Gen? 3rd gen specific?

I have KYB gas adjusts with my 906's. The ride is a little "rough" but they ride very smooth when you are towing anything. What's also nice is even when I'm towing my boat (2000ish lbs) and I have a ton of gear in the back, it essentially doesn't sag at all.

I'm happy with it.

I definitely don't want stiff. I was a Caddy guy so I want smooth but not bouncy.

Those KYB's are only $13 cheaper than the Billy 4600's & $15 cheaper than the longer 4runner specific 5100's.
 
I think the stiffness might have more to do with the springs than shocks. My 906 with 5100 rides pretty stiff imo

I got them for free from a member on here when I first joined the community. They are holding up pretty well.

I agree that the stiffness is mainly from the 906's.
