I have to agree that any stiffness would be from the 906's. I have some coupled with Tundra 5100 and it rides wonderful. It feels like what should have come from Toyota. My wife's '13 Accord Sport is more harsh.

Just checked my old amazon order and I have the Bilstein 24-249966 5100 Series Shock. Unsure if it’s for tundra or 4runner

So if I'm reading this right you're saying the tundra 5100 are a straight swap for stock with the 906?

Yes. I got mine from Wheeler's Off-road. They had the bushings already pressed in for a 3rd gen. I think Wheeler's does that mod.

The 4Runner specific 5100's are actually designed for use with the OME 906 springs... (they are the only spring available with the spring rate mentioned in the 5100 install guide).

It should work but there will be some rake and a bit stiffer ride.
