[Mozambique]

Our roads here really take their toll on suspension.
I have 2 options of new shocks, as these vehicles were never sold here by Toyota part numbers are a huge issue, often doing several 420km round trips over several months until the correct parts obtained.
I can either use OME shocks, or a local brand called Gabriel.
For me it's a no brainier - OME it is.
Has anyone got the OME part numbers that I can confirm with the supplier to avoid wasting months and hundreds of unecessary kms please?

I would really like a set of Billlstein's from the raved reviews here on the forum. As far as my research goes there is no Billstein agent here in Mozambique. South Africa is the closest agent but I am not going to go through the red tape.

I wouldn’t go with bilsteins over OME.

Based on my own limited personal experience, I also would trust OMEs over Bilsteins where ruggedness and durability are required.

4 hour drive from here to the supermarket 200kms away, and that's now in the dry season, wet season obviously longer and the pot holes really intensify in the wet season.
Have confirmed the OME order, should be 8 weeks or so.
My brother here has a FJ75 that he has had OME on since 1993 and still going strong - so pleased I have this option.

I've read more regrets about Bilstein shocks than positives. I beat the shit out of my ome suspension (only 5k miles though) and I would be shocked if anything other than Kings could handle the abuse.

Seriously consider "shin guards" for the rear shocks. I didn't realize they were an option when I ordered mine, now I'm missing a ton of paint on my rear shocks.
