OMG what a difference! It feels like i'm driving a different vehicle. It feels more stable, its more responsive, and braking feels so much better. Before when I hit the brakes my truck would nosedive but now its rock solid. Love it!

looks great man! I can't wait to lift mine. Just waiting on a few more parts to have a complete lift.
 
Ahhhhhh im like two seconds away from entering my credit card number into Toytecs website and ordering my lift. I keep saying I should save my money but then I see great looking rigs like yours and I'm ready to throw in the towel and buy the lift! How hard was the install? Time it took? Truck looks awesome man! :cool:

It all depends on your personal experience...but if you can replace struts, well, that's exactly what you're doing here. They're just much MUCH stronger. Rears are easy too, tilt the axle one way, pop spring out, pop new one in and tilt the axle the other way and repeat. :thumb3:

Yes sir its been a long time coming! I'm suprised you remember my 2wd that was a year ago! :)

The install wasn't too bad. It took me and a buddy 4 hours on the front and about 6 on the rear over 2 days. That's including various breaks for food and such. We also had to make a couple tool runs to home depot. I think with more people and the right tools it could be done in one day for sure. We had to get a strap wrench for the rears but it made our life easier. Can't wait to hit the trails!

looks great and appears to be sitting very level. Many of us have the 881/890 combo and love it.

Nicely done! the mod bug has definitely hit you hard and beware you will be finding even more now....

It was satisfying to do it ourselves. When we ran into issues we just stopped, looked at it for a while, and figured it out. I had only done suspension on hondas and mazdas so this was definitely a new experience. Yea when we first lowered it off the jack stands it had a HUGE rake but it has settled nicely since and I am very happy with the stance. I am in need of some mod bug repellant haha...I am already thinking of roof racks, off road lights and the like.
 
Does anyone know if I go with the 883's for the front will I need the top plate spacer for the full 3" lift or will I be ok with the 883"s by themselves? :biggrin2:
 
U dont need the top plate spacers for the full 3" lift but if u want it to sit a little higher u can get them and add them in there.

If you're 2WD then it's ok if you want more height, but if you're 4x4, I would definitely NOT recommend running spacers on top of 883s. I have a full 3" of lift with the coils alone. Spacers on 883s will destroy your CV axles, no question.

do you have 881's or 882's?
i have 880/906 with 5 mm trip packers up front. I need more payload capacity so i'm putting 890 on this week. If the rake is huge I'm thinking of 881's or dumping the OME and going with SS 7.2.
How much rake do you have in inch's?
I'm looking for 1.5 rake

I have a 2000 Limited and i have caught the mod bug. I am looking to lift my runner and i like the look of your 4runner. Mine is 2wd and i'm new to the lift stuff so i was wondering if someone could tell me what i need to purchase.

I found this Toytec lift 3".

882s and 883s are very stiff without extra weigfht from skids, bumper, winch, ect.. You will get a lot of wheel bounce on the road and feel every bump.The 881s without top spacers will give you ~1-1.5" of rake if used with 890s. How much payload capacity are you talking? I love my 891s with ~400-450 extra lbs. in the back.
