OME Lift Kit Price Hike?

Hey, y'all. About-to-be new T4R owner here. (96 SR5.) I'm doing this build on as low of a budget as I can muster. Just wanted to ask you guys to check my head, if you don't mind.

I've been reading threads like crazy for the last week, so I won't ask the dreaded "Which lift should I get?" question. (TBH, for my purposes—camping and light wheeling—just about anything will do.)

But I've been seeing prices quoted in old threads for the OME kits around $650. Everything I see when shopping is around $900 right now. Does that smell right to you? I'd be perfectly happy with an OME setup, but with the Toytec stuff around $1k now, I just want to make sure I'm comparing the price of apples to the price of oranges.

Yep sounds about right to me too. Paid about that much at Slee Off-road for the OME heavy duty setup for my 4th gen in 2007.

OME 881/882/883 = $170 shipped

Rear LC = $100 shipped or add $60 for OME 890/891
Rear Bilsteins 5100 = $120 shipped

total = $560 and DIY FREE and coupons available too.

I second the Bilstien 5100 but for a tundra not 4runner, and get new mounting hardware( top plate and bolts for front strut assy.) old vehicles now and lots of corrosion.

I went with OME 883 upfront with ARB

Last I checked OME changed their shock design. I was finding OME shocks for @ $600, then the price went up for the NitroCharger Sport-Line. Wheeler's still has some original OME NitroChargers for sale.

Make sure you pick the right set-up though. Once my XREAS goes out I'll be switching to the Heavy Kit to accommodate a steel bumper, winch, camping gear, and allow for a greater towing/hauling ability. If you're just doing some light camping and occasionally go off road, I'd go with the Bilstein 5100s. The guys at Wheeler's Off-Road are a great resource to bounce ideas off.

Try Westshore spring and 4x4, paid about $1200 for OME coils and Bilstein shocks with diff drop and the stud to eye adaptors for rear shocks.

Thanks! Ill try Westshore 4x4. Yes I have tried Northshore Off road.... they gave me the best price so far at $1350 with shipping. I was going to try Radd Cruisers as well.
