OME or donahoe

I'm not going to be using it for off road so not to sure if I want to spend the money on danahoe.
For less then half I can get the OME setup which.
Anyone know the pros n cons to both of them?

I can tell you from my research, but not from a practical point of view...

Donahoe are basically the best you can get, but you pay a price for them. The adjustable height and rebuildable valving creates a complete package for any type of terrain, and the ride and handling is better than stock.

OME is less expensive, and is great for larger tires, but you are stuck with a fixed lift size. Also, it seems that the ride is a little stiffer than stock. On the positive side, there is nothing on these lifts that needs to be rebuilt, so without any maintenance the long term reliability may favor the OME setup.

my reason for the is to put bigger wheel on and was always thinking of a 3' lift. Only due to the low height of the 4Runner.

one thing I want to make sure is that the OME will handle better then stock.

Everything I have read up on this and other forums says the OME is at least as good if not better than stock. Perhaps a little bit stiffer ride, but handling does not suffer with the OME lift.

thanks, just want to make sure that it will be the same if not better in ride and handling then with the XREAS system.

Even now which is stock the ride is not all that great to start with. might be the wheels but don't care for it.

I have a SE and ditched the XREAS for OME a few months ago. The rear springs are stiffer than stock but not overly so -- my wife, who drives an Acura, doesn't complain about it being too stiff. It is definately more controlled than stock.

I just couldn't justify the cost of the Donahoe set-up since I'm not blasting through the desert at 60 mph every weekend.

That's good to know... The $1000 for the Donahoe fronts pays for an entire OME system.

What kind/size of tires are you running?

Currently I'm running 265/70 17 BFG All Terrians, I had them before I lifted the truck. I'm thinking about switching to 285's if I can get them to fit on the stock wheel without rubbing the A-arms -- some have got this to work -- when I need new tires.

I've read several guys complaining about the BFG's but I've had really good luck with them. I bought 5 and rotate through all of them every 5k miles. I've got 35,000 miles on them so far and they have about 2/3rds of the tread left.
