OME vs. Toytec

Looking at ordering my lift this weekend. Wondering what you guys think of yours. Been researching a bit and wanted to hear some opinions. I'm obviously between the Toytec and OME 2", but I am open to hearing what others are running. Not looking to do a body lift, at the moment at least, will do one if I decide to go 3.4 swap next winter. Like I said I have done some research already and want to stick with full springs in the rear and not spacers. Hope to hear some good stuff. And trying to stay in the 2" range, briefly considered the PC 4-5" but will not be doing that.

-Should have noted that this is not a daily, will be used for snow, camping, offroading, beach trips, fishing, dog trips, mountain biking. So road ride quality is not the top of my list. Really want something that will perform well in the tough conditions. Also will be replacing the outer tie rods, ball joints, and maybe CV's (they seems decent though).

Ome keeps up with the older trucks. Toytec does not, they focus on new models. Sometimes new ideas on a old platform are good. Sometimes you can't improve on what you already made so it can go both ways. But OME has prices for older vehicles. Toytec is trying to pay off bills from there over $100,000 SEMA truck. Just food for thought.

I am running OME 900 Rear Springs from Toytec and did a torsion lift of mine for right now. I plan on getting some BJ spacers from 4Crawler to lessen the torsion lift. As for shock I went with Bilstein HD's since I found them at 4Wheel parts for around $200 for all 4. If you go to shockwarehouse.com you can see the part numbers that you need for around a 2 inch lift on our trucks. I've heard that the HD's that are made for our stock setup can accommodate a 2" lift but I wanted to see if what that site suggested worked and so far I can say it does great.

So far this setup runs a little stiff but I think it is great, I feel completely planted to the road and it give me a little more clearance. As for flex I have not tried it without removing my swaybar links, I'm waiting until I feel genius enough to build some quick disconnects.

If you are planning on installing heavier bumpers I would then go with the OME torsion bars and the 901 rear springs.

I would however recommend buying from Toytec, they have a t4R discount and they got my springs to my door within 2 days. I was actually shocked to see them on my door step.

Here's that Bilstein deal that 4wheelparts has Bilstein - 4 4600 Series Yellow Shocks with 4 Blue Shock Boots | 4WheelParts.com. I just sent them the part numbers off of what shockwarehouse recommended for a 2 to 2.5 inch lift.

Just installed

I just did the full OME HD Lift(springs shocks,torsion,steering)(and a lot more) on my 93. Just under $1000 from R.R.O.. I Did have to wait a little longer for delivery but it gave me time to familiarize myself with the area being it was my first time delving into suspension.
Empty, it's stiff period. Weighted down its nice. Just my tools in the back made a difference.(I carry a few).
Either way you feel solid.
Very much a plus imo. Especially from what I started with.
It also seems more level. But then the thing was almost sitting on the bumpstops.
On the down side, when I went out on the first long cruise I put her in to 4wheel(just to make sure) and I hear nothing but clunking/clicking from the cvs...(they weren't in the best shape to begin with but not that loud). Immediately disengaged and proceeded home....Did a little more research and found out that even with a minor lift it's a great idea to drop the differential. Guess I'll be doing that in the very near future!

About to make up my mind but I am really debating the 4" now since it's not too much more money wise. I am only going to run 33's but like to have a lot of travel/flex. Any pictures of either a 4" suspension lift with 33's stuffing tire and 2" with 33's stuffing? Will help me make the choice before I pull the trigger on this.

Well bit the bullet today and ordered the 4" RC lift. Should get it this coming week and install next weekend. Will do my best to make a good install write up in case anyone decides to do the same lift or one similar.
