One bad pad?!?!?

So I hopped in my 07 t4r yesterday and heard grinding. It turns out that the inside pad on the drivers rear was completely gone. the other pad was almost new and the passenger side pads were normal. The piston compresses just fine. Any thoughts on why this happened?

Well. Not sure what the deal is. But I replaced the pads and rotors in the rear and greased the slides. So I guess we will see...

were you slide pins completely frozen? you may need new ones, or try to clean them and apply silicone paste. and only silicone paste...

Also check the amount of rust where sides of the brake pad touches the caliper. The pads should be free to move. It only takes a few mm of rust to jam the brake pads. if they are jammed into place then this will cause improper brake pad application.
