One Disc Player Replacement?

Extremely excited because it looks like after many years I am going to get my first Toyota, and it will be a 2005 4Runner. But I was more than a little surprised as we shopped over the weekend to find out that a one-disc player is standard--even my cheap little domestic suv has 6 player in it! So what is the best way to go: pay the extra money for a six player, or is there a better after-market player out there that doesn't require a rocket scientist to install it and could be had for less or the same money as the upgraded 6 player? Love to hear your wisdom.

I originally got the single disc, but just recently changed it with a scion 6disc unit that also plays mp3. I got it for 250 on ebay. The only complaint I have now, is that the bass response is so much better than before, that now there is a rattle in the door. But it's a great little radio. Also you might have better luck posting in the audio section.

I agree. Assuming the single disc unit isn't the JBL Synthesis unit, the Scion 6 disc is a great replacement. You lose the tape deck, but I really have no use for it. I got mine for $225 shipped brand new off eBay.

I have the JBL unit with the ten speakers on my '03. Can I use the Scion 6 disc unit in my truck? Will it just plug in, or will it be a major hassle?

Thanks for your help!

Edit - Sorry, I should have searched first - the answer is no.
