Opening Rear Lift Gate With No Power

So I've been looking around for a while for a new lift gate for my runner. Finally found one but they guy wouldn't sell it to me unless I bought the whole wrecked 4Runner he had. So I get this wrecked 4Runner and try to get the lift gate off them realize it has to have power and this 4Runner doesn't have a battery...is there any like emergency release to open up the lift gate with no power? That's the only reason I bought it.. Ps keep your eyes out for a fourth gen for sale for parts. I don't really have time to part it out.

Yes: 1. remove small trim cover on the inside of the back lift gate. 2. cut through clear plastic vapor barrier if it is there. 3. Reach down to the latch mechanism and remove the small plastic cover on the left side of the mechanism to reveal two levers. 4. Lift up on the level to the back of the vehicle. You may have to slightly push down on the front lever at the same time.

Hey, sorry to get off topic, but im in the middle of looking for a new lift gate..My current one has no spoiler or back up camera..If i buy a tailgate with a spoiler and back up camera will it fit and wire up fine? I understand the camera wont work, and i dont care, but i just want to make sure everything else will work and wire up the same?
Anyone know?

Sweet thanks I'll have to give that a try this weekend when I go to take it off.

The front end is pretty crunched, but it had the motor taken out of it and I can't find the positive wire to that battery..but it was dark when I was looking so I'll have to look some more when I get the chance.

Honestly, I had no spoiler when I got my 4runner, and I bought one online for like 100 bucks and had it installed for another 50. I'd say thats the way to go if your current lift gate is in good shape. Also, lift gates are expensive as hell (hence why I bought this whole parts 4runner just for the lift gate and a few odd and end pieces)

Well i have to get a lift gate anyway, unfortunately..which is why i was wondering if it mattered..Seems that nobody knows lol..I may just give it a shot and see what happens..Thanks,

I would think it would, I believe all of them from 03-09 are the same

Is that interior tan or gray? Already have my eye on a few things when you're ready to turn some of the wreck into $$ (if it's gray).

It's tan :/ I thought it was grey too. But I've got what I want (the lift gate) I think I'm just gonna sell the rest whole. Just gotta get it cleaned up and posted
