Operation "Apache Rescue"

The other day one of our aircraft had to PL in Huntsville. My 4runner was given the task of towing a turbine engine worth more than my house and both my runners combined! But it was an awesome oppertunity.

Typical unreliable American made products breaking down like always...

At least there's that sexy 4Runner to deliver the spare parts!

Joking aside that's pretty cool. :)

My Dad is one of a few guys who is doing the Longbow upgrade on the TADS/PNVS systems. Ive gotten to see them up close a few times. Awesome sight to see. Watching the system track and aircraft during testing is pretty cool to.

How cool: Apache gunships and Runners. Makes me want to get out my digital camo stencil and start spray painting my '05!

Honestly it is a very reliable aircraft, some of these airframes are from the 80's just renumberd. I wish changing an engine on my 4Runner was as easy as this Apache!

Just wanted to add a few of my runner also, I'm not trying to step on your toes. I took these today after seeing your pics. My runner is very basic, but it is next to an AH-64D Apache Longbow, with FCR (Fire Control Radar)mounted on it. I do have my T4R stickers, which adds a few extra HP.

Bad ass!! I see your paint jobs on those birds is just as faded as ours! Are you guys an ASF? We sent up some birds not that long ago to I think Georgia to get demilled, it was a sad day to see them fly off and not come back.

raygenjay, where are those Apaches based at? Conroe? I thought Ellington was the only place around the Houston area that had Apaches?

Ellington is a National Guard Apache unit, and I am in a Reserve unit in Conroe. I am not going to lie but the National Guard aircraft are a lot nicer than ours. Well at least the paint jobs are.

Operation Apache Rescue

We are an Active unit 3rd ID, 1/3 ARB out of Savannah Ga. Yea our paint job is faded too, Some of Helicopters have the Shark teeth design on the front
