opinions? ford 347 stroker and c4 transmission into a 92 4runner

unless they really changed the engine bay on that year, you wont have any problems with firewall clearance. there is plenty of room

altho, I DO have a stupid body lift on my 85, im POSITIVE it would still easily fit without it. I just haven't cared enough to take it off...


I was recently measuring to drop in a 4.6 DOHC to replace the 302. the heads on that thing are HUGE. im pretty sure it would fit, but I would have to move/rework the steering shaft.

Why replace the 302? Furthermore why the dislike on the body lift? I was thinking about adding a 2 inch body lift to mine just so the tires clear without rubbing and eventually for the 302 swap. Forgive me I am still learning... I learn the hard way.. that is when I occasionally break stuff..

no real reason. just to do it. lol.
the 302 is badass, but it could use some more low end. its a totally stock 1968 302, out of a mustang grande. I was thinking, instead of pulling it, and having work done, id just swap in a more modern, HIPO FI engine. but I lost interest, mostly because I don't wheel near as often as I used to.


about the body lift, in general, I just don't like them. I initially did it, knowing I was going to run a v8. but, after doing it, im sure it would fit without.

id rather trim body panels, move the front end forward, or anything else needed for tire clearance.
