Opinions on exempt titles/4th Gen Purchase

I've been looking for a 4th gen for a few years, but as of yet the stars have not aligned. Either too late, too far away to get there first, etc. Part of the difficulty is because I want a V8, so less available.

I came across a 2007 recently, but the title says mileage exempt. The odometer does not match the Carfax service history which shows a service at Toyota dealer in Jan 2020 for 110k more than what the odometer currently states. Previous owner says he bought it like that. Also, it wont go into 4low by switch. But owner says he can force it into 4lo using the module.

What are your opinions on these things? I'm thinking exempt title would hurt resale. But some people tell me I over-think things. If you would still consider it......how cheap would it have to be???

Price it as a salvaged title.

I would say go for it if you get it for salvage price and plan to keep it for a long time

I'd offer 6K, but settle for no more than 6.5K.

My thoughts also. But may end up passing in this one. It adds up to have around 265k miles plus the 4lo issue.
