I'm relatively new to the Toyota world. My girlfriend has an 03 Limited that I have been doing maintenance over the past couple of years. I liked it so much I decided to get my daughter a 99 4runner Limited as her first ride. I am in the process of getting everything squared away maintenance wise before surprising her.
That leads me to the front brakes. When I bought it I could see the glazing on the front rotors and assumed I would be replacing the fronts. I just pulled the wheels and discovered what appeared to be brand new factory front pads. I can't tell if the rotors have been replaced though. I am seeing alot of rust, a bit more than I am accustomed to, on the vent edges. My question to the experts, do I knock the glaze off with some emory cloth and not worry about the rust on the edges? or replace them altogether? And does anyone recognize if these rotors are factory? I see no part numbers from the front.
