Opinions on Radiator Fluid

I have a 88 4runner with the stock radiator. My radiator fluid is pretty much empty, I was wondering if people knew a good brand to put in. Thanks

Whatever your opinion is on color, keep it the same. If you ever decide to change you need to flush, flush, flush, and then flush. Coolants DO NOT MIX, and you're asking for all kinds of problems if you do. Oh, and that coolant that they sell that works in everything? Yes, it does, but not if you mix it with anything else. So it's still going to have to be flushed out completely before you put the one-type-fits-all in it.

Coolant sucks. Oil... you can mix 20w50 with 0w40 and have negligible problems. But mix green with extended life and you'll be given a gift of a headache that doesn't go away easy.

There are only two acceptable coolants: TOYOTA RED (from the dealer) and XEREX Asian Forumula.

Traditional Green is not silicate free and technically should not be used with our water pumps. I see it around in these trucks though.

Color has nothing to do with anything, stay away from anything but TOYOTA RED or XEREX ASIAN FORMULA.

Take it from a guy who has a 383,000 original miles on a 3VZE.

:D I guess this is a another polarized subject, like IFS vs SAS, welding vs fiberglass body repair, engine ticking noise is good vs is bad, coolant green vs red :D
