Ordered the AFE Cold Air Intake

After a lot of research on Cold Air Intakes I decided to order the AFE CAI. Reason why: 1-) is the same company that makes the CAI for TRD (Toyota). 2-) it is a real "Cold Air Intake" as filter cone is inside a heat insulated material box. 3-) takes the air from the factory intake fender hole and additional frontal scoop for more airflow. 4-) it was tested and the intake temperature checked by another member of this forum and found only 2-5 degrees over outside/ambient temperature. 5-) Found a great deal on price from original $369.00 to $310.00 shipped. 6-) Looks cool, sounds better than stock and should have a decent and fair HP/torque gains.

I said great deal (below TRD and similar) but not cheap only K&N and some other not real Cold Air Intakes are cheaper......but worthless to me.

I will be posting pics and results after installation.

Also placed and order for NGK Iridium spark plugs

Forgot to mention that also ordered the NGK Iridium Spark Plugs $6.85 a pop, so it should be a very nice addition both the AFE CAI & NGK IRIDIUM plugs..........hopping for a big noticeable hp and torque increase on my V6 engine!! :biggrin2:

Not to burst your bubble with the spark plug thing, but you don't get more HP/TRQ from using new plugs.

you just regain what power is lost from the old carbonated plugs...

what about the expensive IRIDIUM gas and expensive IRIDIUM oil, that gives you more horse power too! .... right? lol

That's what I meant. But definitely should feel the difference with the combination AFE CAI & New better plugs!!

Nice part but for the HP return for the money outlay is pretty minimal. I'm glad I can get the same whp just by cutting a hole in the airbox.
