OK, so GOBI hasn't answered the phone or my emails.... how are you all ordering your GOBI racks? I don't really care if it's the best deal or not I want the rack fast as possible...... yes I know "fast" is relative

^^ This exactly. I ordered my Gobi through Trail Duty during the last group buy and it took 6 months and 1 day to get delivered. Communication from both Gobi and Trail Duty was non-existent.

Just my experience with Gobi. I ordered through them a couple of weeks ago and called at 5:30 PM Mountain time on my way home from work. I got an answer at that time of day the first time I tried to call.
I've seen in other threads people suggesting to call in the morning. I haven't tried that and can't comment, but this worked.
Also, I was worried I wouldn't get all of the discounts and accessories ordering directly through Gobi. Here's what I got on invoice:
- Gobi stealth $1595
- No rise option (still LED lightbar ready) ($150)
- Ladder ($0)
- Gas struts ($0)
- Gobi stealth toolbox ($0) (they offered me any free accessory and threw in last struts free)
- Local delivery (I'm in Denver) and installation (-$100 shipping and free install)
- $1645 installed with all the accessories
No problems getting in touch with them when I called, but that may just be my good luck. FWIW, I did also e-mail Trail Duty at one point and it took 10 days to get back to me. I'd already ordered direct through Gobi, so not a problem.

Really? You got them to throw in the stealth toolbox and gas struts for free?

Yeah. They said they we offering one free accessory (I chose the toolbox - I guess the ladder was already free) and then said I wouldn't really need the struts on a brand new truck. When I got the invoice, they were included at no charge anyway.
I guess we'll see if they try to take it back at delivery. Right now, I'm feeling like I got a pretty good deal. I really wanted to order from them directly because I'd read here previously that they will do free local installs.

I already have HD struts because I have a GOBI ladder so I'll take a toolbox as well! gonna try to call them again today. I'm hoping cutting out the middle man might speed things up
Ah that's cool. And from what I've read, you'll still want the HD struts because the OEM can get too weak during the bitterness of winter and come slamming down on you with a ladder attached.

Yep. Got the rack ordered. Got the 4Runner deposit paid. Now to see which will arrive first...
I spoke with Trail Duty yesterday and you can pay a $150 "rush fee" if you want it in 30 days. Otherwise it is looking like a 60-90 day turn around time.

Id pay $150 to get it in 30 days but people are saying it is taking 6 months..... not sure I would gamble $150 on it
I hear ya, I suppose you could always email them and make sure that if it goes past the 30 days you would be refunded the $150.

Just an FYI, I placed my order almost exactly 13 weeks ago to the day with TrailDuty. Receive my rack yesterday at 4:50PM.
From what I gather Trail Duty is a wholesale house... They offer the discount and most likely "batch up" orders to hit a designated number... 10 or 5 ect before they place the order with Gobi directly... I could be way off here but my 20 some years in various market segments of sales tells me this.
Trail Duty has very little to do with the process beyond that from what my experience told me. After that I worked directly with the folks at Gobi all they way up to delivery. In fact, I had a few questions after I received the rack, emailed my contact about 15mins ago with the concerns and received a call back within 15mins from him directly....
That said I had built a relationship with them over the last 13weeks, and even though the process was slow they were very helpful and more then willing to go above and beyond knowing the lead time is really stretched out.
Very happy with the product, and support from Gobi.

I ordered GOBI June 4th. Have received no update from either Trail Pro or Gobi.
I made my first call this am July 20 to Gobi to check on order status. The person took down my info and said they would return my call with status from "...the guys in the warehouse".
I ordered a TRDP May 5. Communication with dealer has been fine. No real complaints. Last update from dealer was scheduled for delivery end of July.
I set my expectation based on what I've read/heard. If I in fact receive the vehicle and rack within the next few weeks I will be pleasantly satisfied.
If you really want one you'll have to be patient.

Hahaha I got the same "guys in the warehouse" response yesterday when I called. I ordered mine 5/11 so it's been exactly ten weeks. I was more concerned that they got the change order from Trail Duty to build for light bar. The lady never did call me back. Sounds routine. But from other stories, it sounds like some circumstances might orders up while others are pushed back, which if true, is annoying.

I ordered direct from Gobi on April 20th, got email notification today that my order's been shipped. Mine's a "no-rise" stealth, with free ladder and fairing.
