Original struts?

The 99 limited I'm working on has Tokico struts with a red band painted around them. The truck has 192000 miles on it. I'm trying to decide if these are the originals? I've read about the paint colors on the coils but couldn't locate anything regarding struts/shocks. Any ideas? They seem ok but if they are originals I want to replace them while I'm doing the other front end work.

those look original. if your worried go ahead and replace them...you'll notice a HUGE difference. i just re-did mine at 270k originals and wow..the ride is so smooth now and there is not one bit of vibration in the steering wheel

I was leaning towards replacement but I guess I was just curious. This will be my daughters truck and I want a smooth ride. Do most of y'all go back with factory tokico for s smooth OEM ride? I can save $50 with a coupon I have for some sensa tracs but I'm unsure on the ride quality.

I replaced mine with tokitoko trekmasters r/t. The ride is definately smoother than my 270k struts. however , I have coil spacers which would not make them as smooth as they should be. at 192k miles...i think anything would be smoother than the struts u have now.

From what i've read, I think the monroes will give you a smoother ride. I was doing a comparison between kyb and monroe a while back, and i'm pretty sure that's what I came up with as a conclusion. But if you do a search for either one of those brands, it should pull up a few threads of discussion.
