Omigod how did you get the front door cover off. I been trying to figure that out. My 4runner is not even a month old and i dont want to break anything but i havent been able to find and screws for the front door.

You have to be willing to pry on it a bit....there are snaps that connect it to the door and with enough effort, they pop loose. i did buy a plastic door pry-bar tool that helped a little and also cut down on the scratches.

Also, make sure to remove ALL the hardware around the door handle. The arm rest pops-off also to remove a hidden screw.

Speaker Baffle

I know this is years late but you wouldn't happen to still have the original oem speaker baffles would you. If so would you be willing to sell me the front passenger speaker baffle. yah, i know it's a long shot.

Howdy.....actually...there were no spearker baffles installed with the OEM system. Sorry!

I must be using the wrong term. Maybe it's not called a baffle (i'm a noob). The speaker is screwed onto a black plastic thingy. The black plastic thingy is attached to the door. The black plastic thingy is what i'm looking for.

For non jbl systems the black plastic thingy is part of the speaker.
on jbl systems the speaker is screwed onto the black plastic thingy.

I have non jbl but upgrading to jbl but missing one baffle (black plastic thingy)

An..you mean the mounting brackets....those I reused...the speakers I bought mounted directly to them. Should be be able to find a new set online though.

I used a Rockford Fosgate Punch P2D48 8" Dual 4 ohm Punch Stage 2 Subwoofer. Works great. The JBL box is an 8" box but as you can see from the pics I had to invert and modify it slightly.

The box volume is 17 liters/.6 ft^3. Search the forum long enough and you should be able to find the available mounting depth...from memory, it's 4.5" IIRC.
