This week I faced some fairly expensive repair costs on my 2003 sport edition 4runner, and after having just put almost $1500.00 into to just to get it to pass PA state inspection, I was not really willing to put another $400.0-$500.00 in it to repair what the mechanic said it needed. So, after 7 years, three months and 173456 miles, and an average repair bill of $1500-$2000 a year for the past 2-3 years, I figured it was time for a new vehicle.
My dealer had three silver SR5s a silver LE, and a black trail with the KDSS and Nav system. Color wise, I really wanted red or green, but I thought the black looked pretty kick ass so drove it home last night.
overstock.com and BJS puts the invoice price for this vehicle at ~36,757.00, my price from the dealer was 37,890.00. Thats not great, but not too terribly bad (right??).
Overall it seems like a great vehicle, and the black just looks awesome, even more so without there being any graphics on it.
There are some things that my 03 4runner had that this does not have that I kind of miss:
Lids on storage areas in the cargo area wheel wells, kind of silly to have storage areas without lids IMO.
Ability to open sliding rear window by remote
Flip out "hamburger holder" on console
automatic closing of rear door on 03
My 03 4runner had a more advanced climate control system than this one
Change holder in console
I am also not sure about the sliding cargo area deck...Does anyone know if there is any loss in cargo area height with this???
