Out with the totaled, in with the new 06...

As most of you know, my 2005 4Runner was totaled this weekend by a drunk driver. I took delivery of a 2006 Sport V6 2WD Galactic Gray last night...

It's so weird to walk outside and see a gray 4Runner instead of a white one. I must say, the Galactic Gray is beautiful on the 06 sport because of the smoked chrome grill. I'm in love :arrow:

I am getting the TRD leather installed within the next 2 weeks. I opted against the JBL Synthesis 10 speaker 6 CD Player this time... instead I just bought a video iPod and it's awesome!

Oh and I got it for $400 BELOW invoice! I went with the 2.9% financing instead of the $1000 rebate. Whoop whoop!

WOW! REALLY, WOW! That is one beautiful SE. The more I see Galactic Gray and that smoked chrome grill the more I want one! I am so envious! Congratulations on the new 4Runner and glad to see that everything worked out in the end. I think this new runner in its gray skin will more than sufficiently fill in for your previous white SE (r.i.p.). Have fun breaking it in.

Looks nice but I'm bias because I have the same color. BTW I didn't know TRD makes leather seat covers? I hope you didn't have to many mods in your white one because now you have to start all over again :D .
 
That is a great looking truck! Good luck with it. Any major differences that you notice between the 05 and 06 sport (besides looks)?

Besides the obvious (and still has to do with looks), the trim/paneling inside is a darker gray instead of silver. Both seats are power (a nice surprise), the material on the door panels is a hard cloth (like burlap almost) instead of suede-like, to reset your mileage they no longer have the silver buttons, instead it's the normal black thing you push like on all vehicles...

I think that's all I've noticed so far. It drives the same and feels the same, just a very different color lol!
 
Congrats on the new whip. I"ve always fancied the GG color and you're right that smoke grill does set it off nicely.
 
Choosing the Galatica Grey color must be a bayou thangggggg!

Nice truck! Please avoid the headons because you do NOT have any equity build up in this truck yet. :p
 
Congrats, I love the new 4Runner! You did exactly what I did, I started out with an '04 white 4Runner, and now I have an '05 galactic gray 4Runner. It took some getting used to, but the longer I own the gray, the more I love the color. :cool:
 
Custom soft trim makes and installs a 2-tone leather with TRD on the seat. I have it and it is beautiful!

Is it custom or could it be classic soft trim? Are they made by TRD or just have the logo?

I ordered mine through Classic Soft Trim. They aren't "made" by TRD, they just have the logo... otherwise it would be an option at every Toyota dealer (or so I would think). I'll post pics when everything is installed.
