Over the top light bar setups?

Bumbo

Does anyone have any good pictures of any light bar setups that are a bit over the top?

We love to drive around at night and I am tempted to drop some coin on some new bars for the roof rack to create some type of 360 degree lighting array.

Has anyone ever tried something like this?

Either way, please share your 4th Gen light setup...

This is where I am at at this current moment.

40" Curved on bumber
21" Amber/White in Grill (licence plates blocking some of it but I remove when off road)
2x cubes on mag mounts for the Side Lights... or to use at camp lights since I can move them around.

This isn't a light bar, but I had some spare LED strip light laying around and decided to add some red running lights to my Harbor Freight hitch carrier I use when on road trips... generally to carry gas, water, and wood.

What did you use for the rear lights? Have a Link? Those look nice and clean.

Any night shots of those backup / work lights?

I wonder if thats a better route for the roof rack... a pair per side, vs trying to find a cheap single row bar.

Not as bright as some, but still lights up the road at night.

Here is the link for the rear lights:

I like the lights because of the price and their decent light output. Attached is the only pic I have of them lit, Ill grab one tomorrow for ya though. I contemplated going for a full light bar but it just seemed like too much on the back and these lights have worked out fine.

What front bumper do you have?

It is the Metaltech 4x4 front tube bumper:
03-09 4Runner Tube Bumper W/ Winch Mount - Metal Tech 4x4

Unfortunately the bumper has been discontinued.

Once i get a rack on top, my goal is to put a 52" bar on each side, with a nice switch panel to control each one independently. Because you know, never know when that zombie apocalypse is going to happen lol.

Thanks for the link on the light... I was looking for a flood pattern, does that spot give off enough flood to use as a work light for camp site work... cooking, tent setup?

Also... After clicking on the bumper link I literally threw my credit card at my computer when I saw the price... then I saw it was discontinued. :sobbing:

Yup, me too. I had been considering the Metal Tech bumper when it was $599 but my mind was absolutely made up when I saw it went down to $299... Then I scrolled down a bit and saw it was discontinued. So bummed.

I made some changes... I pulled the bumper because I wanted to move the white/amber combo light a little lower, and a bit more forward because I wasn't happy with the position and fit in the original post pictures...

But I decided to fill it out with something even bigger that also fit better.

Im not sure what I am going to do with that original 21" white/amber combo bar... I might sell it because I dont really have another place for it. I thought about mounting it rear facing but I haven't really figure out a good way to make a clean install yet. My original plan for the rear was those flush mounted in bumper cube/pod things.

While I had the bumper off, I bought a 35 watt, 3000k yellow HID kit from DDM tuning with their premium bulb and ballast and got that mounted up too.

Once I get it all back together ill post some more pictures.

Here is a couple looks, not quite "over the top" but I love it!

Let me know if you want to see them on at night and ill go take one.
