I realized after changing out my steering rack bushings that there is a good chance I over tightened the steering rack guide by accident. I know the guide shouldn't have been touch for bushing work. But I think I remember tightening up the guide cap while under there. Work was done about 6 mo ago and I definitely remember the steering being a bit stiffer after new bushings. Things have loosened up since but is it possible I caused damage? I don't have any leaks and steering doesn't seem too sloppy but I have noticed that the vehicle seems to be a bit "jumpy" for lack of a better word when hitting a bump or pot hole.
What are the odds I damaged the rack? What would the symptoms be? I'was thinking of replacing guide bushings when I do shocks/struts soon.
Thanks
