Overactive VSC

Has anyone else experienced an overactive VSC? At times even when I'm just turning into a parking lot and the vehicle will pitch a bit- I will hear the beeping and my brakes will shutter. I have a 3'' OME lift and running 33's- and wondering if anyone else encountered this problem.

I like the idea of the VSC when driving on the road in normal conditions- but also plan on installing the bypass switch like I have seen some do on here for 4wheeling or snow driving.

Any input is appreciated.

I really hated mine. Even when it was off it would sometimes come on if I drifted to hard or was going to fast. The by pass to install was ok to put in. I'm not really good with messing with wires but it deffinitly does the job. I followed cj3flyers mod and works wonderfuly.

ok dumb question time-I may have had the wrong terminology... The beeping and brake shuddering- is that VSC or traction control. And if the beeping/shutter is happening, is that bypass going to eliminate it?

One more-- does the v8 AWD matter or come into play?

There all the same both 2wd and 4wd. Im not sure about the V-8 but I am sure it should work the same. the VSC and traction control are the same. once the system detects wheel slip it will slow one of the wheels down and restrict power. but mostly it is the VSC. and the bypass does get rid of that annoying braking.

I actually get this same problem, only has happened after I lifted it and put bigger tires on. Its pretty rare though, I usually just ignore it.

do you know if bigger off road tires equal more slip? at least on the street?

Rather than create a new thread I'm going to revive this one a bit...

I'm running into what seems like the same situation as mentioned to start this thread. Since the Icon Stage 2 and 285/70/17's I seem to be encountering an oversensitive VSC.

Coming into corners at approx. 10-15 mph, usually with a slight uphill, I'm getting the beeping. I'm talking turns from roadways into raised parking lots, or parking lot sharp-ish corners, not roadway corners. Not drifting or spinning wheels here. (and the parking lots are empty early in the morning going into work).

Anyway, there isn't any noticeable braking or power loss, though I'm sure it's happening, it's just that these little happenings only last all of about 1/2 to 1 second tops.

Anyone know if this is just something I need to learn to live with unless I learn to reduce speed and thus body roll in slow-speed sharp turns? Or is something else going on?

Same here. Put in 34" tires recently and have had this happen twice - slow but relatively sharp turns induce beeping and ABS kicks in. I chalked it down to the lift and big tires.

I found this video for ZPC - it's an 04, but anyone know if its the same pins we need to short for an 08? I am weary of crossing wires and shorting things etc. though ray:

I've gone through countless videos and threads now on the zero cal just to be sure. I'll be following this: Yaw Rate and Acceleration Sensor Zero Point Calibration - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum

It's for 5th gens, but at the bottom you see there's someone with an '08 that says it worked. I'm pretty confident this will work just fine, pins and all. I plan to skip the DAC and crawl control cal mentioned in the linked thread as I've read everywhere it isn't necessary on the 4th gen. Though if it's a problem it's always something you can do after the fact anyway.

Regardless, every thing I've read, for all 4th/5th gens, seems to say the same pins. So I think you will be fine.
