Overdrive

All of my previous vehicles had a button you pushed to kill the overdrive feature but I have not been able to find one in my 2007 V6 4WD Sport. Is there no button or am I missing it somewhere on the shifter ?

When you put it in D, it automatically engages overdrive at the appropriate time. To disengage, manually shift to 4.

:iagree: I think that's why "4" and "D" are right next to each other... it's easy to just bump it to "4" when you don't want fifth (OD) to engage.

My guess is the only reason they call it overdrive is that the ratio is less than 1.00 as I do not see any limitations on driving in "D" when pulling a trailer as some vehicles do when OD is less than a real gear.

The manual recommends you tow in 4 not "D" - most members posting here have found it hunts gears on anything other than a flat road in "D"
