Overhead Lights Auto or Not?

Just bought a 2004 4Runner and figured out how to get the second row roof lighting to come on upon entering vehicle at night, BUT, the front row lighting doesn't come on which makes it difficult to see the key hole, etc. Is this normal? The lights work when turned on which tells me it's not a bulb issue. Any ideas?

Thanks

I assume your talking about the 2 map lights above the rearview mirror? They only come on when you manually press them on. By second row lights, I assume your referring to the overhead light (directly above/between the front seat headrest) and the one at the top of the liftgate are switched; door (come on with your door open), off, or On (manual position). Hope that makes sense.

The key hole lights when you open the door on my 2004.

Yes, I'm referring to the map lights above the rearview mirror. I already found the stich which controls the overhead light. From what I gather, there isn't a way to make the map lights come fade on/fade off when opening/closing the doors?

Not sure how to link to it but search for the map light mod. It can be modified. There is a sticky at the start of one of the forums.
