She's a tired engine that's for sure but she ain't dead yet.

That was hot. 219k. Just hooked up the B&M trans cooler. Seeing the radiator condition made me panic and get it done tonight haha.

It isn't the radiator?

Did anyone mention possible rupture of the transmission fluid cooler in the bottom of the radiator where ATF mixes with coolant?

Finished the flush today. Nothing but brown water came out. Shoved a water hose in the upper coolant hose, turned on the heater, and flushed everything out until the water ran clean. Did the same for the radiator and flushed a bunch of rust out. Changed the thermostat out and put the jiggle valve at 6 instead of 11 like it was. New radiator cap. All new coolant. Feel much better about it now.

Found where all of the coolant goes to. Passenger floor board. Damn heater core is leaking. Thankfully winter doesn't happen for another 6 months. Time to bypass.

Please check your timing. On the last two 5VZ-FE's I've worked on, the timing was off by at least 10 degrees. It's scary how rarely folks recheck their timing after a belt change. We reset the timing on both trucks and it was a massive difference in power and economy.

This message isn't necessarily aimed at your issue but rather a simple step in diagnosing all low power issues.

Funny you mention that. I saw the timing marks by the balancer today and got to thinking hmmm. I wonder if when the belt was changed the timing wasn't set properly but if the computer adjusts for timing it should be a moot point unless it's to far out and I'd like to think if it was that far out it'd set a light or run rough and back fire at some point.

On another note, are the lines going in to the heater core 5/8"?
