Owners of Camburg ball joint uca's

For those of you that have purchased the Camburg ball joint uca's, where did you end up on your caster settings? How does your truck drive with those settings? I've been reading a lot of posts on this forum as well as several others and the results seem to be all over the board as far as final numbers go. Right now my truck will still align to the factory specs but it does tend to wander a bit at highway speeds hence the reason for the above questions. Yeah, there are probably better control arms to go with but I don't wheel my rig so I don't need the extra travel of the uniball arms nor do I want the added maintenance. Thanks for any insight on this. :thumb:

I've got them and they're close to being in spec (low on caster) but that was just because I didn't feel like fighting my alignment shop and it drives perfectly. No darting even in high winds, steering wheel comes back to center on its own, and it tracks straight. I wheel my truck and have no concerns that these arms will be able to handle a whole lot of abuse. They are extremely well built and visually appealing.

Did they give you less caster than the stock arms or very close to the same? Mine still comes in at 2.7 degrees but I can't get any more with the stock arms. If I buy a set of the Camburg's and can't get more caster than what I have now, I will be pretty ticked off.

I am interested in the same info. My 4 runner also wander with the stock UCA caster maxed out at about 2.7 as well. LMK what you find out Cisco

I definitely gained caster. If you have a shop that is experience with lifted vehicles and is willing to put in the time to get it right and they understand you will still have to sacrifice a little bit of camber, you will be in business.

I have them on my 5th gen. With the lift around 2.5", I could only get 2.5° of caster with the BJ Camburgs. It drives perfect though, even better than my 4th gen that has over 4° of caster (SPC arms). I was a little disappointed with the Camburgs and the low caster.

I've hade them since last September and they've been great! I don't remember the exact specs from my last alignment but they always tracked straight. I also wheel my truck pretty hard and I've had no issues with the whatsoever. I do need to go back and get another alignment soon after I rotate my tires and raise the front up a little more. So I could post exact specs when I do that. Hopefully sooner than later.

i had the BJ arms installed about a month ago. the alignment shop got me 3.2° castor on each side. i did have an issue with camber, driver at 0.2 and pass at 0.8. guy said he could not get any better on the pass side and that it was max'd?

Best I could get on them with a 2.5" lift was 2.2 and 2.3 for castor. Not really much better than the stock ones. I'm raising my front a little more and I'm going to remind I can find an alignment guy more experienced with lifted 4wd vehicles.

Based on what everyone has posted here, I guess I'll save my money and deal with the not so great handling on the highway. I really don't want to go with uniball arms but it looks like that may be the only way to get more caster.

I wish I had gone with uniball arms to begin with. Honestly it's not much more maintenance. You have to grease the bushings on the ball joint camburgs every 5k miles anyway.

Light racing arms are a viable option.

If I remember correctly even uniball arms leave you low on camber after you get caster in spec, the Camburg arms are great.

I have the uniball arms and it took about three tries to find a good alignment guy to dial it in. Most want to do the absolute minimum and call it good, I would guess that is what is happening to you.

Btw, the maintenance on the uniball is next to nothing. Don't let that scare you away next time.

really, even out here (im in denver as well)? i purposely went with the BJ arms due to the winter road crap out here.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a set of Camburg's. We'll see how things go when they get here. Fingers crossed

how are the Camburg UCA's working out for you? I am curious as to your experience and alignment numbers because I am looking to buy some UCA's soon as well.

Thanks

They should be here on Monday. It took a while for Wheelers to get more stock from Camburg. I'll make sure to post the results.
