Oxygen cylinders as OBA?

I picked up these bad boys for a song. When I get a chance (almost certainly after Moab ), I'm going to source some fittings and head down to the welding supply to see if I can get them filled with CO2. I didn't get a lot of hits on google, has anybody here used oxygen cylinders for on-board CO2? Will I have to get the tanks tested and rerated? Is this going to end up costing me more than just buying a Smittybilt or Viair tank?

A welding shop wouldn't put co2 in there but you can get them to put compressed air though I think. co2 requires special regulators.

I need regulators anyway, the medical regulators don't flow enough. What's the practical difference between compressed air and CO2?

From what I understand, Co2 is a bi product of compressed air. I could be wrong though. Overall, both will do the same thing for your tires.

CO2 is a naturally occurring gas in the air we breathe, so it's in compressed air.
You can put a lot more pure CO2 in a container than you can air, so it is better for running air tools, filling tires, etc

Co2 is compressed till it turns into a liquid. Therefore a tank will hold the Co2 as a liquid till it is released turning back into a gas. Yes there will be more gas volume in a tank of Co2 than compressed air.

You may be able to spin off the tops of those tanks and spin on the proper valves to accept a Co2 regulator. And yes there are different valves for different gasses.
