P0133 - Advice

Hi folks,

I have been blessed recently with a P0133 on my 97 4WD 3.4L -- Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1, Sensor 1)

I have read the threads here on the forum about it on 3rd Gens.

Aside from replacement, is there anything I should look at first?

Here are some suggestions I ran across thus far:

• Test the amps/ohms/etc
• Clean MAF Sensor

Slow response codes are usually the oxygen sensors themselves. If it were a lean code, I'd check a few other things first.

The check engine light went away without any 02 sensor replacement... should I be worried?

You may be nearing sensor end-of-life. If MPG and performance are what you are used to, I'd wait and see if it comes back. If you think sensor is really old, you can be proactive and change it--might improve things.
