I got time to mess with the o2 plug Thursday.
I couldn't find any 96-97 4runners around here so I ended up getting the plug from a 98 which IS different. So I had to change the connecter inside my plug.
It was fairly easy to do. I unplugged the front o2 sensor and the large plug on the right side of the tranny towards the front of the tranny. This gave me enough to pull the harness over to the drivers side for more room to work.
Pics pretty much show it all on how to change the connecter on the harness side.
The plug
First pull out the rubber seal
then pull out the white block
What you see after pulling the white block out.
Push the tab and at the same time push the connecter out or pull lightly on the wire
No code in 2 days so I guess I got it. LOL.
Thank you to all for the help
