2000 4runner, 125k miles, 4 cylinder engine.
The CEL came on month ago and I checked it with my scanner and it gave me the p0420 code. I replaced the rear o2 sensor and that made the light go away.
Now it is back again, this time with the code P0401. I am just curious as to whether or not you guys think that the EGR passages are loaded up with carbon or the EGR valve or EGR sensor is at fault.
Moreover, What is the easiest way to get the EGR valve off? I took a quick look and it seems as if I would have to take the intake/plenum and or throttle body off to gain access.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
